BxHF Programs

The Hispanic Theater Festival was established in an effort to present theater.  Bronx Hispanic Festival brings theater presentations free of charge to all residents.  Latino theater companies have the opportunity to present their work to Bronx audiences Senior Centers and Schools.

The Latin American Book Fair of the Bronx “Libro Abierto” presents books and magazines in a Fair atmosphere.  The Latin American Book Fair, Open Book  “Libro Abierto” in 2009 included a Conference, a Symposium, special performances of live music, and a sample of independent publication and publishing services information.

Fiesta Folklorica Hispana is an event that offers the community the opportunity to meet people from diverse cultural backgrounds. The event is a display of arts, crafts, food, music and children’s activities. The Hispanic Diaspora will be on display through a variety of exquisite dishes of the Latin American cuisine. Fiesta Folklorica Hispana is a day of remembrances and fun for the entire family.

Ejemplo Hispano Award - Hispanic Leadership Recognition Event is an event in which an individual or an organization is selected based upon its exemplary profile and development in the community.  The following categories are awarded: Visual Arts, Theater, Education, Community Services, Health, Media and Sports.

The Hispanic Festival Theater Program

The Hispanic Theater Festival was established in an effort to disseminate theater as well as recent works of writers, directors and actors.  BHF brings theater presentations free of charge to all residents.  Any theater company has the opportunity to present their work to the committee.  It is the committee’s responsibility to select the theater pieces which will be presented during the festival. This event targets all audiences as well as local Senior Centers and Schools.

Hispanic Youth Day event

Hispanic Youth Day is a day set aside to celebrate with our youths and to bring awareness of the richness of the Hispanic Culture.  It is the BHF’s belief that through culture and sports, our new generation will continue this cultural heritage. 

Bronx Hispanic Festival participates on a collaborative effort with public schools in the Bronx.
